Rules

1. General Rules

The tournament is played under the World Curling Federation (WCF) Rules of Curling and Rules of Competition, issue July 2023. All stones, brooms, and equipment must comply with current WCF regulations. Only WCF-approved broom pads (listed on the official WCF Approved Equipment List) are permitted.

The No-Tick Rule (effective since 2022–23) applies:
During Free Guard Zone play, a stone touching the centre line may not be moved off the centre line before the fifth stone of the end has been delivered. Violating stones will be repositioned and the delivered stone removed.

2. Time-outs and Breaks

Each team is entitled to one 60-second timeout per game. During a timeout, both coaches may approach their teams. After the fourth end, a mid-game break of up to 3 minutes is permitted. The umpire will signal the start and end of the break.

3. Round Robin Games

All Round Robin games are played over eight ends. If the score is tied after eight ends, no extra end will be played. A one-stone shootout will determine the winner: each team delivers one draw to the button, with the team having hammer playing second. The stone closest to the button wins.

Each game has a total time limit of 115 minutes. The clock starts when the umpire begins the game. When time expires, the end in progress shall be completed; no new end may start.

4. Pregame Practice and Last Stone Draw (LSD)

Before each Round Robin game, both teams have a 5-minute pregame practice. The first-named team on the schedule plays red stones and practices first. Pregame practice starts 15 minutes before the scheduled game time. After practice, each team plays one LSD (Last Stone Draw) to determine hammer. The player may choose in-turn or out-turn handle. If the stone covers the pin completely, it counts as 0.00 cm.

The best five of six LSD results (Boys) or best five of six (Girls) count for the Draw Shot Challenge (DSC). The total of each team’s LSDs determines ranking when teams are tied on points.

5. Finals

After the Round Robin, teams will be ranked according to total points. If two or more teams are tied, the DSC ranking determines their order (lowest DSC = higher rank).

The final ranking determines the medal games:
- Gold Game: 1st vs. 2nd place after Round Robin
- Bronze Game: 3rd vs. 4th place after Round Robin

Finals are played over eight ends. If tied after eight ends, an extra end will be played. The higher-ranked team after the Round Robin chooses hammer or stone colour. The team with hammer plays second in the first end and has first pregame practice.

6. Spirit of Curling

All players, coaches, and officials shall conduct themselves in the Spirit of Curling, showing respect, fairness, and integrity at all times.
